This book includes a CD that contains more than 100 images and descriptive captions of the architectural treasures of the Boston public schools.
Boston is one of many cities and towns in the United States that has historic buildings, including schools, to be admired, studied, preserved, and updated for future use. Throughout our country, in New York, Chicago, Mobile, San Francisco and elsewhere, there are older buildings that are architectural treasures and renewable resources for those communities. To explore the architectural treasures of the Boston public schools is to demonstrate in one city that which exists in many. These schools are valued by students, parents, teachers, administrators, educators, architects, preservationists, politicians and neighbors. This book is dedicated to all of us as we appreciate the past and look towards the future. Join us in our exploration for treasures filled with surprise, delight, and mystery.
