THE RULING PASSION is an historical novel that highlights the passion, politics, and class relationships in Boston prior to the onset of the Revolutionary War. It is a woman's story of Verity Lynford, newly married, who wants to please her husband and fit in to the upper class society she has married into. Verity watches Boston change from a teeming metropolis to an armed camp in a matter of months. She is caught in the middle of those who are supporters of the revolution and those who are fighting to stop it. And she is caught between the man she married and the man she loves. Anyone who enjoys Colonial American history will relish its intimate images from the past and the historical accuracy of the setting. Anyone who has ever loved will be caught up in the emotions of the story.
Mary J. Carter is a writer who authored The Insiders Guide to Planning the Perfect Wedding.
